Who would have ever thought that the habs would come back from a 3-1 deficit to win against the most favoured team making history again for the 1st 8th place team to ever come back from this deficit to beat the 1st place holders.

If you ever wondered why Habs fan are so crazy, well this is why, it’s never over til it’s over. Even when the odds are stacked against us we still believe.

Game 6 proved to be quite a turning point for our beloved Habs, Halak playing the game of his life, stopping 53 out of 54 shots. He now deserves to have that brick wall painted on his mask, even if some thought that he couldn’t stop a beach ball if his life depended on it. Halak is the new king in town! Jaroslav Halak will bring Stanley back. (Quoted from a song parody playing all over the radio).

More good news: so far, i haven’t seen anything about Riots, which makes me proud to be a Habs fan this year. I thank the Montreal police for a super job in protecting the real Habs fans and the Ambulances dispatched to various house for massive heart attack symtoms sustained in the last few minutes of the game!

Now off to play the Penguins, this should be a really nice and fun series!

Je suis Canadiens, Go habs Go!

Mtl vs. Was

David vs Goliath, After 2 periods, Mtl leading 4-1, habs fans across the planet started smelling the stanley cup. After 10 minutes, in the first, a very upset Jose Theodore was pulled out of the net for washington. Then in the 3rd, Goliaths woke up, coming back to win this 2nd game 6-5, which left Halak frazzled and a bad taste in the habs fans mouth.

The question now is will the Caps go with Theo or Varmalov and will the Habs put Price in nets for game 3.

Buffalo vs. Bruins

Buffalo lost Vanek early in the first period to a lower leg injury and it’s unknown how bad the injuy is. Ryder and Chara managed to get the puck through Miller late in the 3rd period giving them the lead for the first time in this game against Buffalo. Let’s see if Buffalo will be able to make it without Vanek, their top scorer.

LA vs. Vancouver

Just a bad night for Vancouver. The Kings erased a 2-0 deficit, on the winning goal, Kopitar fired a shot that Vancouver goaltender Roberto Luongo stopped. Kopitar picked up his own rebound and shot again. Luongo made the save but then knocked the puck into his own net with his stick. That is definitely not a good way to lose a game but that wasn’t the only upset of the night, Vigneault was fuming after Vancouver got a penalty after the puck touched a player returning to the bench and the linesman called it. Vigneault says it was a bad call and that there are 2 refs that have red stripes on their sweaters that should have made the call, not the linesman.

Everyone seems to think that there has been quite a few surprises in this series with the underdogs making it tough on their opponents, but how surprising is it when you look at the Springtime showdown’s player picks, that predicted most wins in the 6th or 7th game. It’s still really early in this series and anything can happen.

ok so we are 3 games in today, all series knotted up at a game a piece…evenly matched…bizzaire calls, wins, performances stronger than anticipated, is it fair to say that this could really go either way now?

Washington – dropping the first game, theodore allowing 2 shots on 2 goals in game 2? then gettin back in it forcing the major OT win, and Ovy gettin on the board, circus has come to town!

New Jersey – it is too easy to read this team, would not be surprised if the Flyers break their one strategy..Brodeur

Buffalo – Barely won the first game, lost Vanek in the second game, do they have life to succeed?

Pittsburgh – Defending cup champs, not really playing like it, game 1 even though close they kept playing catchup, game 2 a better effort but they are playing against a unpressured Sens team, sometimes not the best scenerio here.

Ottawa – Brian Murray has placed no pressure on his club, but assuring everyone that they are going to take this series, this is how a team who has nothing to lose will act, guns a blazin!

Boston – For a very defensive team they sure are pouring on the goals. Their heavy hitters are out to play, Chara and Lucic are producing and leading this team. Who knows what they can do this round.

Philly – They may not be the broadstreet bullies, but they sure are taking it to the Devils, even though they got massacred in game 2, something tells me with game 3 coming back to their building you may see some louder hockey.

Montreal – This has been the biggest surprise to me so far. High scoring in both games played, never behind and playing their hearts out. A heartbreaking loss in game 2 against a desperate Caps team showed that this might not be as one sided as some may think..

Western teams thoughts to come…

Welcome to the springtime showdown?…..well that was one of the most interesting starts I have seen in well ever!

Pens vs. Ottawa: ummm what was that? Sens clearly came to play and Fluery was letting everything in under the sun! Pens looked like they had the air let out of their tires…hmmm

Devils vs. Flyers: 1st round curses going after the Devils again? hardly any scoring, brodeur not making the key saves, it can go 7 games but which way could this tilt?

Phoenix vs. Detroit: Well credit to the Coyotes, they anwsered the call, and did it well in the whitest town in hockey. Detroit clearly showing they are going to be a force to be reckoned with, and also Phoenix too!

SJ vs. Colorado: Sharks were outskated, outduked and beaten to the puck every time. It may have been a close game, but it clearly shows who is who at this point. The young Avs team are here to play.

Phoenix was the only home team to win last night as well as the only higher seeded team to win a game last night. Have you ever seen a start like this?

Sure it is only the first game, maybe I shouldn’t worry.
